This does not include new lights, fuses, or any amp board resistors. This also does not include the output transistors, but I do have replacements for those available separately. This kit includes the following: Power Supply: 3 capacitors Main Amplifier/Tone/Phono Board: 40 capacitors (Nichicon PW, Panasonic FC, Wima film) 9 transistors (Fairchild/Onsemi) Chassis/other:3 main capacitors (Epcos 3300 uf 100v, same diameter as the old ones) 1 chassis-mount transistor (Fairchild/Onsemi)1 resistor (for lighting) Instructions No tuner parts are included–if your tuner is working fine now, just leave it alone. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. These are the same parts I use when I rebuild Kenwood equipment. I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but rebuilding a receiver is fairly complicated, and you should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester, as well as a little heat-sink compound. The scarcity of good, honest techs who can do good and reasonably priced restoration/rebuild of audio equipment inspired me to create this restoration kit. In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. It is the same as with car tires; one should never replace just one tire and keep the other worn-out tires on. A proper rebuild requires a full recap of all PCBs.On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, the wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced, and costs are sky-high. Up for sale here is this complete rebuild kit for the Kenwood KA-7100. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild all the boards in the Kenwood KA-7100, and it includes new replacement main filter capacitors as well. Some KA-7100s have heat-sinks on the Q31/Q32 transistors and some do not have them. Those two resistors need to be heat-sinked, so the kit includes two heat-sinks with mounting hardware in order to properly mount the transistors. This kit includes: Power Supply: 10 capacitors (including 4 main filter caps)2 transistors11 diodes (2 zener)2 heat-sinks with hardware1 relay Amp Board: 11 capacitors6 transistors Preamp Board: 9 capacitors4 transistors Control Board: 18 capacitors8 transistors These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild vintage gear.
