The 5896 is a dual diode tube (electrically similar to a 6AL5) and can be used as a full wave rectifier. 6.3 volt heater. Therefore these are a great choice for portable gear. For specialized tests, we employ one of our VTV Dual Triode Characterizers (for preamp tubes) as well as a Maxi-Matcher (for power tube matching).
